“Beautiful layout with exceptional use of readers guides. The bite-size stories/bios are short and easy to read, an attraction for post-modern readers. A well-written piece that is both interesting and keeps the reader wanting more. Excellent job.” — Comment from judge for the Associated Church Press awards
I served as interim art director of The Lutheran magazine from March 2015 to March 2016. At the time the circulation of the 52-page magazine was 170,000. I was responsible for all visual design and image acquistion. The design was a given, but I made some small but significant changes and worked to create engaging layouts with variety, readability, reader entry points and diversity.
